Superabsorbants
Goldcrest chemicals markets a range of superabsorbant polymers under the SUNROSE brand for application in the following sectors. They are based on partially crosslinked polyacrylamides and sodium polyacrylates.
SUNROSE GWA finds applications in horticulture and agriculture is capable of absorbing and releasing up to 400 times its own weight of water. It is used for transplanting shrubs and trees by reducing transplant shock and growth check by maintaining water supply while new root systems are being established. It can also be used as an addition to composts and soils for retaining water in hanging baskets and growbags etc.
SUNROSE PWA finds applications in a variety of absorbant requirements such as cooling scarfs, flood defence products and feed additives where rapid takeup of water and swelling rates are required.
SUNROSE MAT is a polyester woven superabsorbant fabric which absorbs and retains large amounts of moisture and water-vapour and finds applications where moisture control is an important function of a product or the application environment.
